After seeing the Nokia Lumia 900 leak left and right, CEO Stephen Elop finally made the handset nice and official today at CES. Heading to AT&T with 4G LTE connectivity, the Lumia 900's packing 4.3-inch 800x480 AMOLED ClearBlack display, 1.4GHz processor, Windows Phone 7.5 Mango, 8-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics (F2.2 aperture) and a second 1-megapixel camera (F2.4 lens) around front. Also under the hood is 512MB RAM, 16GB storage, an 1,830mAh battery and support for 21Mbps HSPA+ if you don't live in an LTE area. The Lumia 900 is made of the same polycarbonate material as the Lumia 800 and will be available "in the coming months" in both black and cyan.
On the software side of things, Nokia will be loading the Lumia 900 up with its Nokia Drive and Nokia Maps applications as well as an ESPN sports hub. Nokia customers will also have a 90-day exclusive on the new CNN app for Windows Phone when it launches in the next month. Finally, Nokia said that it's working with EA to bring "20 of the world's most popular games" to the Windows Phone Marketplace, landing first on its Lumia devices.
There you are, folks. It may have taken longer than some Windows Phone fans would've liked, but Nokia's new flagship Windows Phone is now officially official, and so far the response to the Lumia 900 seems to be pretty positive. We'll have to wait a little while longer to find out just when the new member of the Lumia family will be going on sale and how much it'll cost when it does, but the handset could well become one of the more lusted-after Windows Phones in the U.S. when it launches. Here's to hoping that we eventually see the Lumia 900 spread to other carriers after AT&T's exclusivity period is up. Interested in digesting even more Lumia 900 details?
