Remember that Toshiba AT200 Honeycomb tablet that was first unveiled waaaay back in September? Well it's finally (almost) here, as tonight Toshiba revealed that the slate will be coming to the U.S. under the moniker "Excite X10" sometime in the first quarter of the year. Expect to to come in 16GB and 32GB varieties, with pricing set at $529.99 and $599.99, respectively. Specs remain the same as when we first heard them a few months ago, meaning you're looking at a 10.1-inch 1280x800 display, 1.2GHz dual-core TI OMAP 4430 processor, 5-megapixel rear camera, 2-megapixel camera around front and 1GB RAM in a body that measures in at 7.7mm thick. There are also micro-USB and micro-HDMI ports as well as a microSD slot. The Excite will launch with Android 3.2 Honeycomb in tow, but it'll eventually be treated to Ice Cream Sandwich.
Looking over the press images of the Excite X10 that Toshiba has put out, the slate looks to have a much more premium feel than the Thrive that's been out since the middle of last year. Of course, the Excite also carries a slightly higher price tag than the Thrive, which is currently going for $399.99 or $479.99 for the 16GB or 32GB variants. We'll have to wait until the Excite X10 comes to market this quarter before finding out whether its worth the extra cash, but until then, feast your eyes on shots of the slate's side and rear below.
