Owners of the Wi-Fi-only Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 know what it's like to live a TouchWiz life, having been given an update that includes Samsung's custom Android UI way back in August, and now it looks like folks with Verizon's LTE-enabled version of the Tab 10.1 will soon gain that knowledge as well. On its official Galaxy Tab 10.1 support page, Verizon has posted details of the tablet's EL01 update that will bring with it an upgrade to Samsung's TouchWiz UI. Owners of the LTE Tab 10.1 can also expect EL01 to pack in enhanced Wi-Fi connectivity, Google security patches, several new apps and a host of other goodies. You can find the full changelog for the 351MB update below.
Verizon hasn't mentioned precisely when EL01 will be rolling out to its customers, but the Tab 10.1's support page says that the update is "coming soon," so owners of the device may want to head into Home > Applications > Settings > About Device > System Updates to try and check for it manually. If you're interested in checking out just what TouchWiz brings to the Tab 10.1, you can check out Taylor's written review here or Aaron's video hands-on with the update on a Wi-Fi Tab 10.1 below. Some folks may not be fans of the idea of losing the stock Honeycomb experience on their Tab, but both Aaron and Taylor think that TouchWiz bring some worthwhile additions to the device. As always, we'd love for you LTE Tab 10.1 owners to check in with us after you get EL01 installed to let us know how it's working for you. Shout it out in the comments section!
