Back in October the International Trade Commission issued a ruling on a complaint from HTC alleging that Apple was guilty of infringing on four of the Taiwanese firm's patents, saying that there had been no violation by Apple. However, the ITC has now decided to take a second look at a portion of that ruling, announcing that it will reexamine the findings with regard to one of the four patents in the case. When asked for a comment on this news, an Apple spokesperson repeated the company's previous statement, saying "competitors should create their own original technology, not steal ours."
Just like the ongoing battle between Apple and Samsung, this ITC case isn't the only one that's currently going on between Apple and HTC. The two companies have filed several complaints against one another with the ITC, and the agency is actually set to hand down a ruling on Monday on a complaint from Apple alleging that HTC has infringed on two of its patents. There's no word yet on when a decision will be made on this newly-announced reexamination, but as usual, we'll keep you updated as we learn more. Stay tuned!
