When I received the official email yesterday, I breathed a sigh of relief.  After months of rumors, leaks, speculated launch days that came and went, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus is finally available for purchase at Verizon.  It's packing the same 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, 4.65-inch Super AMOLED HD display, 5-megapixel camera, and Android 4.0 that the unlocked version has, but it builds (quite literally, thanks to added bulk) onto it by offering a 4G LTE radio and a larger, 1,850 mAh battery.  It joins the Motorola DROID RAZR and HTC Rezound at the $299.99 price point, and rounds out Verizon's holiday lineup of high-end smartphones.

There's no doubt that the Galaxy Nexus is a nice phone, despite some flaws.  But we've waited what seems like an eternity for it to land in subsidized form on a carrier in the States.  At this point, Samsung and Verizon have missed the coveted Black-Friday-to-Christmas shopping rush (sorry, December 15th is too late for most), so this phone is essentially landing in that odd "after Christmas, but before CES" territory.

As the trend goes in wireless, there's other hot stuff right around the corner, but the Galaxy Nexus has a strong fan base, particularly among Android purists.  So I have to know: did you buy a Galaxy Nexus today, or are you holding off for a few weeks?  Or maybe you're not interested at all?  Cast your vote, and let me know why - or why not - in the comments section!
