If you're in the market for a new high-end Android tablet quad-core allure Transformer Prime hasn't piqued your interest, Samsung may have a new slate in the pipeline that could be right up your alley. According to a "trusted source" speaking to BGR, Samsung is prepping an 11.6-inch tablet that features a crazy 2560x1600 resolution and 16:10 aspect ratio, as well as a 2GHz dual-core Exynos 5250 processor. On the software side of things, the device will reportedly run Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, which will include Android Beam functionality, and a "special wireless docking mode" meant to project games onto an HDTV and help compete with Apple's AirPlay. When might this wonder tablet see the light of day, you ask? BGR's tipster claims the Samsung-made slate may make its debut at Mobile World Congress in February with a launch to follow sometime next year.
Samsung's released a number of Android tablets as of late with screen sizes ranging from 7 inches up to 10.1, so it's not a surprise to hear that they've got another in the works. The device's rumored 11.6-inch display sounds like it could be a bit too large for some, but the source of the report claims that the tablet itself isn't much bigger than a Galaxy Tab 10.1 thanks to a thin bezel, so we'll have to wait before making a final judgment. However, if the slate does end up packing a display resolution of 2560x1600, some folks may not care much about its other features. What do you all think? Does an 11.6-inch 2560x1600 ICS tablet with a dual-core CPU sound like something you'd be interested in?
