Apparently Verizon's having some issues keeping its leaks under control. Shortly after some leaked Verizon documents added support to the December 9th Verizon Galaxy Nexus launch rumors, it appears that Engadget has gotten an internal Verizon doc of its own to add in to the mix. The image purportedly comes from a Verizon email detailing the carrier's plans for in-store marketing materials and launches over the next week or two. As you can see above, the Motorola DROID 4 is listed with a launch date of December 8th and a description that mentions that that's the date that the device will be hitting store shelves and ending the DROID 3's 5 months in the new release spotlight. The doc also shows that stores will be receiving Galaxy Nexus marketing materials on Thursday, and Engadget's tipster claims that the signage will go up after stores close on Thursday and that the phone will go on sale this Friday, December 9th.
So the 9th is looking increasingly like the day that the Verizon Galaxy Nexus will finally, finally hit. That said, we've seen a number of rumored dates for the GalNex come and go with no handset in sight, so for now maybe you should practice your best fake sick call to get out of work on Friday and wait for Verizon to give us the official goods. As for the possibility of the DROID 4 hitting on December 8th, this is the second time we've seen that date pop up in conjunction with the new 4G LTE slider, though it is a couple of weeks earlier than the most recent rumor of a December 22nd arrival. Whichever date ends up being right is anyone's guess, but the good news is that we've only got to wait a couple of days before finding out.
