Remember last week when an Australian judge said that Apple's injunction against the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 was "not terribly fair?" Looks like that judge wasn't the only one that felt that way, as an appeal panel has decided to overturn the injunction that's barred the Tab 10.1 from being sold in Australia for several months. However, right after the verdict was issued, Apple revealed that it intends to appeal the decision to Australia's High Court (shocker). The decision to overturn the injunction has been stayed until Friday afternoon to give Apple an opportunity to issue its appeal.
Today's ruling is pretty big for Samsung, not only because it's a victory for the company but also because Samsung's Australian Galaxy Tab 10.1 launch has been running into roadblocks as far back as August. As I mentioned before, the fact that Apple plans to appeal this decision means that the battle still isn't over, but hey, a win is still a win. Earlier today we also learned that Apple has filed for a preliminary injunction against Samsung's redesigned Galaxy Tab 10.1N in Germany, so it looks like the global battle between the two companies is picking up once again. Get comfortable, folks, because this is all still far from over.
