Ever since Siri was successfully ported to an iPhone 4, folks have been wondering when Apple might officially bring its voice-controlled assistant to the last-gen iOS handset. You may not want to hold your breath while waiting for official Siri support on the 4, though, as Apple has told developer Michael Streeber that it has "no plans" to bring the feature to older devices. The statement sent to Streeber in an email from Apple:
"Engineering has provided the following feedback regarding this issue: Siri only works on iPhone 4S and we currently have no plans to support older devices."
That's not entirely surprising considering that Siri is one of the flagship features of the iPhone 4S. Still, it's kind of a bummer for folks that can't or won't upgrade to Apple's latest handset, especially considering how well Siri seemed to work on an iPhone 4 last month. Looks like it may be time to start hoping for a Siri port to pop up in Cydia, iPhone 4 folk.
