HTC Edge leaks, complete with quad-core processor and 4.7-inch display

Always feel the need to have the fastest, most bleeding edge smartphone available? Then you may want to add the device you see above to your wish list. That's the HTC Edge, a device that the folks at Pocketnow are reporting could have quite an impressive spec sheet. According to the site, the Edge is packing:

  • 4.7-inch display with a 720p resolution
  • 1.5GHz quad-core Tegra 3 processor
  • 8-megapixel camera with 28mm, f/2.2 lens
  • Front-facing camera
  • 1GB RAM
  • 32GB storage
  • HTC Sense
  • Beats Audio
  • 21Mbps HSPA+ (Pocketnow believes carrier-specific LTE variants are a possibility)
  • Body that measures just over 10mm thick

Not a bad feature list if I may say so myself. There's no mention of which version of Android the Edge might ship with, though the render above clearly shows a set of capacitive navigation keys. That suggests that Gingerbread may be running the show when the Edge is released, which Pocketnow believes will be late in the first quarter or early in the second quarter of next year, but it's entirely possible that that could change by launch time. So what do you all think? Has the Edge got you rethinking any handset purchases you may have been planning on making?
