Earlier this month Nokia took the wraps off of its first two Windows Phones, the Lumia 710 and Lumia 800, then disappointed fans of the platform here in the U.S. by saying that it wouldn't be releasing any of its WP7.5 handsets Stateside until next year. The good news is that, according to a report from our friends at TmoNews, we won't have to wait too long into 2012 before getting a peek the first U.S.-bound Nokia Windows Phones. The site claims that the T-Mobile-bound Lumia 710 (codenamed "Sword") is expected to be unveiled in January in both black and white versions.

As far as specs go, the Lumia 710 as we know it is packing a 3.7-inch 800x480 ClearBlack LCD, 1.4GHz processor, 5-megapixel camera, 720p video capture, 1,300mAh battery, and Windows Phone 7.5 Mango. That may not be the most bleeding edge feature list we've ever seen in a Windows Phone device, but the 710 looks like a respectable mid-range handset, especially if T-Mobile and Nokia can price it aggressively.
