The Galaxy Nexus has already made headlines a few times today thanks to some leaked shots and a video, and now the device is back in the news once again. But this time? It's official. Samsung and Google have announced the Galaxy Nexus, their new flagship smartphone that's running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Specs for the new Nexus are as follows:
I know what you're thinking: "When can I get one?" Thankfully the wait won't be too long, as the Galaxy Nexus will be launching here in the U.S. in November. There's no word yet on precisely when it'll be hitting shelves or how much it'll cost when it does, but as usual, you can bet that we'll pass along more details as we get them. So what you think? Was the Galaxy Nexus worth the wait (and enduring many, many leaks)?
UPDATE: Two quick things worth mentioning. First, Google has officially added the Galaxy Nexus to its official Nexus website, found here. There you can learn more about the Galaxy Nexus, look at pretty pictures of it, and even register to learn more information about it.
Second, if you watch the Galaxy Nexus intro video (found below) closely, you can see "Verizon Wireless" named in the notification tray at the 21 second mark. Neither Samsung nor Google came out and said that the Big GN would be headed to Big Red, but it looks likely that Verizon will end up being at least one of the homes of the new Nexus here in the U.S.
