It looks like the Great BlackBerry Outage of 2011 may finally be coming to a close. RIM this morning held a brief press conference to announce that BlackBerry services have been fully restored, although some users in Canada and Latin America might encounter some messages delays. The company promises that it has a team monitoring that situation and that there are also teams watching the services in other countries to ensure that things are running smoothly. RIM co-CEO Mike Lazaridis posted a video this morning apologizing for the service outages, saying that he "expects better" from his company and that RIM is "[monitoring] the system very closely." This outage has been pretty bad for RIM and its image and, with the iPhone 4S and new Nexus coming soon, it probably couldn't have hit at a worse time for the company. Several BB users have announced their plans to switch to a new mobile platform, but the good news here is that those planning to keep their 'Berry locked and loaded in its holster should begin seeing normal service today.
