Bad news for owners of the HTC ThunderBolt: it appears that the Gingerbread update that finally began rolling out earlier this week has been put on hold. Verizon has confirmed via their official @VZWSupport Twitter account that the update for the TBolt has been temporarily suspended due to a voicemail notification error that was found after the rollout had already begun. There's no mention of precisely when a revised update will be pushed to ThunderBolt owners, but Verizon says that the fix "will be available soon."
It's definitely a bummer to see the ThunderBolt update pulled back after owners of the first Verizon 4G handset waited so long for it, but I suppose it's good that Verizon and HTC yanked the update for fixes before it had a chance to spread even further. As usual, we'll let you know more about the update and when it'll begin rolling out again as soon as we get it. How many of you TBolters out there were able to download the update before it was halted? Are you having issues, voicemail-related or otherwise, since installing the new software?
