It's Apple rumor time once again! Today's report comes courtesy of the @Chronicwire Twitter account, which has photos of a box for an Otterbox case meant for use with the rumored iPhone 4S. As you can see in the image above, the box features the "iPhone 4S" branding. Below is a shot of the backside of the case packaging, which shows that the volume buttons on the iPhone 4S may have been moved to the right side of the phone above the SIM slot. That change is also present on some previously-leaked iPhone 5 cases. According to @Chronicwire, Otterbox has produced 3,000,000 of these iPhone 4S cases.
As mentioned by @Chronicwire, the new volume button placement on the iPhone 4S/5 would make sense considering that iOS 5 allows users to push the Volume Up button to take photos in the camera app. Other rumored features of the iPhone 4S include a A5 processor and an 8-megapixel camera inside a body that's similar to the current iPhone 4. Apple has yet to make an announcement about its fall event where it's expected to reveal the new iPhone(s), but it's been speculated that October 4th will be the day that the unveiling goes down.
