Will Samsung swoop in and purchase webOS from HP? Rumors of such a deal began swirling earlier this week after HP announced plans to discontinue operations on webOS hardware, but now it looks like we can cross another manufacturer off of webOS's list of potential adopters. Samsung Electronics CEO Choi Gee Sung has said that his company will "never" pursue a deal that would involve Samsung buying webOS. "It’s not right that acquiring an operating system is becoming a fashion,” the exec said at IFA in Berlin. Choi then touched a bit on the software that Samsung is interested in, like its own Bada operating system, explaining that the firm is working "harder than people outside think" on improving its mobile OS.
Back in June, HP was revealed to be in talks to license webOS out to other manufacturers, but so far we've yet to see any companies step up and actually agree to use the OS. Now that Samsung's out of the running, which firm would you like to see adopt webOS? Which do you think HP has the best chance of striking a deal with?
