Remember that report from earlier this week alleging that Apple tweaked images of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 to make it look more like the iPad? Turns out that Apple may not have stopped at the Tab 10.1. After flipping through the court filings in the Dutch suit between Apple and Samsung, the folks at Webwereld discovered that Apple may have altered images of the Samsung Galaxy S to make it appear more like the iPhone 3G. As you can see above, the images used by Apple portray the Galaxy S and iPhone 3G as being the around the same size. In reality, though, the Galaxy S is a full seven millimeters taller than the 3G and a tad wider, as well.
In other Apple-Samsung related news, Apple has filed a suit against Samsung in the Netherlands that's got some pretty hefty demands attached to it. Webwereld is reporting that Apple wants a ban on all Samsung Galaxy phones and tablets across the entire European Union. That includes devices like the Galaxy S II, Galaxy Ace, Galaxy Tab, and Galaxy Tab 10.1, among others. The ban that Apple's asking for is a pretty extensive one, seeking a ban on sales, distribution, manufacturing, and importing of the Galaxy products. Apple's also reportedly demanding that Samsung require a recall of all of its stock within two weeks. The Dutch court in The Hague is expected to issue a ruling on this case on September 15th. Any injunctions that may be issued wouldn't take effect until October 13th.
Apple's request to have all of Samsung's Galaxy products removed from European shelves seems pretty bold, especially after a German court temporarily lifted an EU injunction against the Galaxy Tab 10.1. It's not clear yet how the Dutch court will rule in that case since we're a little under a month out from a decision, but if reports of Apple allegedly doctoring images to help its case continue to emerge, I'm not sure how much of a case Apple will be able to mount. We're sure to hear more both on this case and Apple's inaccurate images in the next few weeks, so stay tuned!
