Eagerly anticipating the arrival of the Samsung Epic Touch 4G on Sprint? If so, I've got some good news for you, bucko! Our friends at SprintFeed have been told that the Galaxy S II variant could be hitting the Now Network's shelves as soon as September 9th and that it could be the first carrier-branded GSII to hit the market. Before you run to a calendar and check, yes, that's a Friday, which would break Sprint's trend of launching phones on Sundays. It's worth mentioning, though, that a previously-leaked Sprint roadmap showed that the Kyocera KYS3015, KYC5120, and a new BlackBerry Curve are all due to hit on the 9th, too. That document correctly predicted that the Conquer 4G, Bold 9930, and Torch 9850 would all be hitting Sprint on August 21st, so don't completely write off the possibility of the Sprint GSII hitting on September 9th just yet.
It's also worth mentioning that SprintFeed has been told that Sprint's Galaxy S II could come to market as the Epic Touch 4G, which lines up with a report from BGR from earlier this month. A more recent leak , however, showed a graphic with the name "Epic 4G Touch." At this point it's not yet clear which name Sprint will actually end up going with.
So there you have it, Sprint folks. Although I wouldn't go requesting September 9th off of work just yet, it's certainly a date worth keeping in the back of your mind. The good news is that we're just 10 days away from Samsung's Galaxy S II event, where it'll presumably reveal the U.S. GSII variants and hopefully their release dates as well. You know we'll be covering the event live and bringing you the news as it happens, so keep your browser locked to PhoneDog for more.
