Time for another mystery, friends! It's been revealed that Motorola snapped up a number of domain names on Wednesday related to something called "Kore." Moto registered five different domains in total: MotorolaKore.com, KoreMotorola.com, Moto-kore.com, MotoKore.com, and Motorola-Kore.com. Unsurprisingly, there aren't any clues in the registrations as to exactly what the Kore could be.
The rumor mill's been churning all morning with ideas of what the Kore is, and the most popular idea so far seems to be that the mystery device may be a Kal-El-powered quad-core tablet, possibly with a 4:3 (iPad-like) 2048x1536 display. Such a device would open up some interesting marketing possibilities for Motorola that'd likely see the company putting a lot of focus on the "quad-Kore" aspect of the slate. The downside to all of this is that, if the Kore is indeed a quad-core tablet, we're still at least few months away from seeing it hit the market since NVIDIA's Kal-El chips won't begin appearing in tablets until sometime this fall. Bummer.
