Heads up, Symbian fans: not only did Nokia introduce a new Symbian Anna-powered handset today, but an eight minute clip of the next iteration of Symbian — also known as Symbian Belle — has been posted online for all to see. First up, we'll check Nokia's new smartphone. Known as the Nokia 500, this is a device that we first heard about back at the tail end of June. Specs for the 500 are as follows: 3.2-inch 640x360 display, 1GHz processor, 5-megapixel camera, 2GB built-in storage, interchangeable battery covers, pentaband HSPA radio (meaning AT&T and T-Mobile 3G support), Symbian Anna, and a price tag of around $215. Expect the 500 to land sometime in Q3. We've embedded a clip of the Nokia 500 in action below to help you pass the time until its arrival.

Continuing with the Symbian fun, a video of Symbian Belle running on a Nokia N8 appeared today to tease us all with something that we can't have quite yet. The eight and a half minute clip shows off several different aspects of the OS, including the browser, Android-like notification shade, app tray, camera UI, and the virtual QWERTY keyboard. There's definitely a lot to digest here, so kick back, grab a bowl of popcorn and a frosty drink, and take it all in.

Despite the fact that the Nokia 500 isn't a super high-end smartphone, the fact that you're getting a 1GHz processor and the Symbian Anna OS for less than $225 sans contract seems pretty awesome. Plus, we can never get enough pentaband handsets. As for the Symbian Belle video, I'm digging the MeeGo-esque look that Symbian's been taking on as of late. It remains to be seen exactly when we'll be able to give Belle a go for ourselves, but the fact that it's running on an N8 gives hope that some of Nokia's current lineup will be able to get a taste of the new OS.
