HTC today announced its Q2 2011 earnings report and, while the company did pretty well for itself (12.1 million devices shipped, revenue up to $4.3 billion), one announcement in particular should please those of you with an affinity for HTC-made products. The Taiwan-based firm today declared its plans to release six to eight new devices in the second half of 2011, which it says will be a mix of Android and Windows Phone handsets as well as some tablets thrown in for good measure. Unsurprisingly, HTC didn't get into the specifics of these new products, but hey, at least we know that the company has a healthy amount of new devices coming down the pipeline.

The HTC news doesn't stop there, as CEO Peter Chou today touched a bit on his firm's current legal battle with Apple. The CEO also reiterated that HTC is preparing to appeal an International Trade Commission judge's ruling that the company is guilty of infringing on two Apple patents.

So what devices might HTC be referring to when it says that it's planning to launch six to eight new products in the remainder of 2011? The Windows Phone Mango-powered Omega and Eternity are certainly two possibilities. On the Android side of things, we've got the female-focused Bliss, Kingdom Hero 4G, and the Puccini tablet that's destined to hit AT&T's shelves. That still leaves a few products up in the air, but what fun is life without a little mystery, right?
