Ready for another helping of bakery-fresh Gingerbread? The latest Android 2.3 recipient is the Motorola DROID X2, following the appearance of the handset's Gingerbread support document on Verizon's website two days ago. Verizon's official support account claims that the update will begin hitting DROID X2s today and will be rolling out in stages, although we've yet to hear of any DX2 owners successfully receiving the update. Here's to hoping Verizon's support team doesn't repeat yesterday's Galaxy S II fiasco by claiming that they meant to say that the DROID X will be receiving a second Gingerbread update today.
For all of you DROID X2 owners that don't feel like waiting for Gingerbread to come to your neck of the woods, you can hit up your Settings menu, then About phone, and then System updates to try and pull the update down manually. Once the new software does make its way to your trusty DX2, be sure to come back and let us know how it's working for you. After all, you know how much we love to hear from you guys.
