And the Gingerbread train keeps on a-rollin'. After the T-Mobile G2x's Android 2.3 update began getting pushed out yesterday and the G2's roll out kicked off today, a document has leaked showing that the Kyocera Echo on Sprint will soon be getting its own taste of piping hot Gingerbread. The software is build number 2.002SP and will be pushed out over a four-day period beginning August 1st, with 10 percent of handsets getting it on day one, 25 percent on day two, 50 percent on day three, and 100 percent on the fourth day of distribution. The list of enhancements and fixes included in the update is as follows:
- Improved power management
- Improved text input
- Minor performance improvements
- Manage Applications Control
- Download Manager
Not a bad update, right? It's pretty awesome to see Sprint continue to pump out Gingerbread updates for its Android devices, with the EVO 4G, EVO Shift 4G, and Galaxy Tab all getting in on the 2.3 fun as of late. Obviously the Epic 4G is the glaring omission from that list, but with any luck that update should be coming sooner rather than later.
