The Samsung Galaxy S II has been the subject of many an Android phone's dreams ever since it debuted back in February, but both Samsung and the U.S. carriers have stayed mum when it comes to details on when the GSII would be coming stateside. That changes today. Shin Jong-kyun, president of Samsung's mobile business, recently went on the record about the Galaxy S II's U.S. launch, saying that his company plans expect's the GSII to launch in the States "sometime in August." No other details were given.
So there you have it. Kind of a bummer that we don't yet know exactly when each carrier will be launching its own Galaxy S II variant or what the differences between each model will be, but hey, at least we know that we're not far off from finally, finally seeing the GSII in the U.S. As long as the carriers don't make us wait longer, that is. Better start saving your pennies.
