Thought that the Samsung Infuse 4G and its 4.5-inch display was big? You haven't seen anything yet. The device you see above is reportedly named the HTC Eternity and, according to a report from HTC Inside, it's packing a 4.7-inch 480x800 Super LCD screen. That's right, 4.7 inches. Other rumored specs for the Eternity include a single-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm MSM8255 processor, 8-megapixel camera with dual LED flash and 720p video capture, 1.3-megapixel front-facing cam, 16GB of built-in storage, 512MB RAM, 14.4Mbps HSPA, 1650mAh battery, and Windows Phone 7 Mango. No word yet on when, or if, this newest giganto-phone will make it to U.S. shores.
After the emergence of 4.3-inch devices like the HTC HD2 and EVO 4G and then the launch of the 4.5-inch Infuse 4G, it only seemed like a matter of time before a manufacturer would create an even larger smartphone. The Eternity's display is just a hair smaller than the 4.8-inch screen found on Acer's Iconia Smart, but that doesn't make HTC's offering any less monstrous. It'd be nice if the Eternity's screen resolution was a tad higher, but at least HTC has been thoughtful enough to include a Super LCD display on the device. So, are you lusting after the Eternity and it's 4.7-inch screen or is that just too big?
