Nokia may be preparing to roll out Windows Phone devices like the N9-esque Sea Ray, but that doesn't mean that it's done with Symbian just yet. As evidence of that, the alleged specs of four upcoming Nokia-branded Symbian devices have leaked out alongside photos of one of the new handsets. The specs originated over at FlashFly and were corroborated well-known blogger Eldar Murtazin:
Nokia 701, codenamed Helen: 3.5-inch 360x640 nHD ClearBlack LCD display, 1GHz processor, 8-megapixel camera, and Symbian Belle (the follow-up to Symbian Anna).
Nokia 700, codenamed Zeta and photographed above: 3.2-inch 360x640 nHD AMOLED display, 1GHz core, 5-megapixel camera with LED flash, NFC, and Symbian Belle.
Nokia 600, codenamed Cindy: 3.2-inch 360x640 nHD AMOLED display, 1GHz CPU, 5-megapixel camera, NFC, FM Radio, and an "attractive price."
Nokia 500, codenamed Fate: 3.2-inch 360x640 nHD TFT LCD display, 1GHz processor, 5-megapixel camera, described as "affordable, reliable, and fast."
All four devices are said to be launching sometime in Q3, although it's not clear if that means that we'll also see them made available here in the U.S. at the same time. As always, though, all of these details should be taken with a few grains of NaCl. If they are indeed legit, it's good to see Nokia continuing work on Symbian and bringing a good range of devices to market. It'll also be interesting to see what kind of improvements Symbian Belle packs compared to Anna. We'll keep you posted!
