Heads up, HTC ThunderBolt and Nexus One owners: software updates for both devices began rolling out today, and we've got all the details you need. Verizon just confirmed that an update (no, not Gingerbread) for the TBolt is being pushed out in stages beginning today. The update is 22.28MB in size and, once it's installed and your device reboots, you'll find the following fixes and enhancements:

Web Browsing and Data Access

• Enhanced data connectivity when accessing the Verizon 3G network.

Email and Messaging

• SMS and MMS messages are stored properly in the Messaging Application (Inbox, Sent, etc.).

Additional Device Features

• Timing for device activation has been improved.
• “Backup Assistant” is correctly displayed in the Application menu.
• Stability improvements for data centric applications such as Facebook, KAYAK, Yahoo! Mail, My Verizon and more.
• Accurate location is displayed when accessing the Weather Widget.
• Quickly load GPS updates for Google Maps and VZ Navigator™

You Nexus One folk will be getting an upgrade to Android 2.3.4, which includes an assortment of bug fixes. The bad news is that there's no Gtalk video chat to be found, although that's not terribly surprising considering that the N1 doesn't have a front-facing camera like the Nexus S does. The good news? If you don't feel like waiting around for the update to be pushed to your device, you can go ahead and manually install it yourself. The update can be downloaded right here.

I'm sure more than a few ThunderBolt users are bummed that the device's new update won't be bumping them up to Gingerbread, but it's worth noting that that particular upgrade could very well be coming sometime in the next month or two.
