When the Motorola Atrix 4G launched earlier this year, the one feature that everyone seemed to be talking about was its ability to dock into a laptop and become a netbook of sorts. The laptop dock ended up being a bit hit or miss with consumers, though, with many folks feeling that the accessory was simply too expensive to justify picking up alongside their shiny new Atrix. However, last week during Moto's earnings call, CEO Sanjay Jha touched briefly on his company's future plans for laptop docks and how it'll attack the pricing complaints:

"You will see multiple devices from us in the second half launching with these capabilities, and we will expand the range of our Lapdock devices so we cover a broader price point, addressing both the enterprise premium tier as well as more consumer tiers."

We've already heard that Motorola is planning to launch more smartphones with Atrix-like Webtop capabilities later this year, but it's good to hear that the firm is also planning to introduce more docks that are a bit easier on the wallet. It's not clear exactly how Moto will differentiate the different docks to make them cheaper or more expensive, but I wouldn't be surprised to see laptop docks with varying screen sizes, resolutions, etc. Would any of you pick up a laptop dock if Moto were to offer a model that's cheaper than the one currently one the market?
