The HTC Sensation 4G may not be launching for another couple of months (possibly on June 8th), but those of you that are eagerly anticipating the device may want to pay attention to this new rumor. According to an anonymous HTC sales manager, the Taiwanese firm is currently working on a new smartphone that'll be "positioned slightly above" the Sensation 4G and will pack a near field communication chip for things like making mobile payments. The device will allegedly also include a 4.3-inch display and could launch sometime in the third quarter of this year.
It shouldn't come as a surprise that HTC is working on any number of new devices at any given time and, considering the recent news that Google may be making a big push for NFC in Android, I'm sure that HTC is planning to pack NFC chips inside at least a few of its upcoming smartphones. The question, though, is how many of you would actually take advantage of an NFC chip inside your smartphone? Is NFC a feature that you need/want to have in your next smartphone, or are you not interested in the tech?
