Recent rumors claimed that we could see the mythical white iPhone 4 before the calendar rolls over to May, and the evidence that that is indeed true seems to be mounting. According to "people familiar with the matter" speaking with AppleInsider, some Apple stores are already receiving shipments of the white iPhone, and an announcement is expected to be made this Wednesday, the 27th. That date jibes with a leak posted by the folks at 9 to 5 Mac, which contains a screenshot from Best Buy's inventory system purportedly showing that the albino handset will be launching on the 27th.
There's no question that the white iPhone 4 has certainly been a long time coming, but I'm glad to finally see that the device is actually almost here. It's tough to guess exactly how many units Apple will sell, as I'm sure that most people feel that anyone that waited for a white iPhone initially has given up at this point and bought another device. Still, with the fact that we probably won't be seeing the iPhone 5 until September, I wouldn't be surprised to see decent sales numbers for the frosty white phone. How many people do you think will be buying the white iPhone 4?
UPDATE: It seems that BGR has been sent another Best Buy inventory screenshot which shows that Best Buy will be launching both the AT&T and Verizon versions of the white iPhone 4 on Wednesday. Who's excited?
