Both the HTC ThunderBolt and DROID Incredible could see an upgrade to Gingerbread before Q2 is up, and now we've heard that another HTC-made handset could be upgraded to 2.3 in the near future. According to JR Raphael over at ComputerWorld, an HTC spokesperson has said that the T-Mobile G2 will be bumped up to Android 2.3 "sometime within the second quarter of this year."
Considering that the G2 runs a mostly-stock build of Android and is the follow-up to the G1, aka the very first phone to feature Google's mobile OS, it was always more of a question of when, rather than if, the Z-hinged handset would be updated to Gingerbread. It's kind of a bummer that we don't have a more concrete date to look forward to, but you can bet that we'll let you know when we hear more. Get excited, G2 owners!
