So the weekend has passed and there's no DROID X Gingerbread in sight. Bummer, right? It's not all bad news, though, as the folks over at My Droid World have not only gotten their hands on a leaked build of Android 2.3.3 for both the DX and the DROID 2, but they've also made the both available to download for you and me. After installing this version of Gingerbread, you'll be greeted by a new, bluer version of BLUR with a customizable dock, new camera app, and all kinds of other goodies. Neither build has been rooted just yet, but you can easily revert to the Verizon-official firmware if you end up changing your mind about the whole installing leaked software thing. If that all sounds good and you just can't wait for Verizon to push out the official upgrades, check out the download links and instructions at the source links below. One more thing: while there's most likely a way to get your phone back to normal if something goes wrong while installing one of these leaked builds of Gingerbread, we can't be held responsible if you end up bricking your phone somehow.
While BLUR hasn't always been the favorite Android skin of most users, the changes Motorola made to it with Gingerbread definitely look like they're for the better. The status bar/notification shade are especially nice, as is the dock that actually allows users to switch icons around and the homescreen indicator at the bottom of it. If any of you decide to take the plunge and install one of these leaked builds on your handset, be sure to share your thoughts and experiences below!
