Boy, this is just a Gingerbread kind of weekend, no? First we heard that the DROID X may receive the update next week, then came news that it actually may not be happening, and yesterday an HTC representative allegedly confirmed that the ThunderBolt would be bumped up to 2.3 in Q2. Now it's the DROID Incredible's time in the spotlight. According to another email from a different HTC rep, the DInc will be updated to Gingerbread "before the end of the second quarter of this year."

There's no question that the DROID Incredible is starting to show it's age (and will likely be replaced soon), but considering its popularity and high-end specs, it wouldn't be much of a surprise to see the DInc get 2.3. Of course, we'll wait until we hear an official announcement from HTC and Verizon before we begin mashing the update button obsessively, but things are certainly looking good for DROID Incredible owners.
