Samsung seems to be vying for pretty much every size range for their Galaxy-branded devices. The recently announced 10.1-inch Galaxy Tab device joins the ranks of the 7-inch version that has already launched, and now there's talk of another device getting ready to launch sooner than later. Yonhapnews is reporting that Samsung is getting ready to unveil, and start shipping, a new 8.9-inch Galaxy Tab as soon as next month.
There's no official confirmation of the device's existence at this point, but it wouldn't be surprising to see Samsung going down this road. And, while we can imagine that Samsung would launch this new tablet with another version of Android, there's a chance that it launches with Android 3.0 (Honeycomb). With devices ranging in the 4-inch range, and the upcoming Samsung 4G LTE device for Verizon with its 4.3-inch display, and the Galaxy Tab 10.1-inch version claiming the king of the hill positiion, another Galaxy-branded device in another size may seem overzealous, but Samsung must feel that having a ridiculous amount of options for consumers isn't a bad thing. Would you buy an 8.9-inch Galaxy Tab device?
