Microsoft has been talking about the upcoming updates for their mobile operating system since the launch of the platform, but as we inch closer to March we're looking forward to the first real, major update to the platform. With it comes copy & paste, along with better search results in the Marketplace and other software improvements. But first, Microsoft is currently pushing out a minor update to Windows Phone 7 handsets. Why? The small update is meant to get your phone ready for the major update coming in a few weeks.
Nothing groundbreaking to be sure, but it's good to see that Microsoft is still keeping on track with their release schedule. It may not have been as quick as some people would have liked, but at least it's coming. The update should be pushed out to all Windows Phone 7 handsets in the next few days, so if you have a Windows Phone 7 device, you should see the notification any day now. At least we know your phone will be ready for the updates coming later this year, too.
