Many expect Apple to unveil the iPad 2 soon, following the company's yearly refresh schedule that it's used with devices like the iPhone and iPod Touch. Today we got more evidence that the second iteration of the iPad is right around the corner courtesy of some Euro carrier price cuts and retail shortages. First up, we have T-Mobile and Orange over in the U.K., who recently slashed the price of the 16GB 3G iPad to £99.00 with a two-year contract. Additionally, retailers in both Europe (Carphone Warehouse, Ingram Micro) and Canada (Future Shop) are currently sold out of various models of both the WiFi-only and 3G iPads.

Sure, it's entirely possible that all of these events occurring at once is one big coincidence. With April looming and iPad 2 rumors coming hard and fast, though, it seems more likely that these are indications of a new iOS tablet on the horizon. Plus, there are several Android-powered tablets, like the XOOM and G-Slate, launching soon, and I'm sure that Apple would like to match those devices with a shiny new tablet of their own.
