We've heard it time and time again: there is no "Facebook phone." Today Mark Zuckerberg made an appearance (or, rather, a video appearance) at HTC's MWC press event and drove that point home again. Then he said something that surprised a lot people, explaining that there will actually be "dozens" of handsets that feature deep Facebook integration, like HTC's new Salsa and ChaCha. So there you have it.
If you think about it, it's not terribly surprising that there will be multiple "Facebook phones" rather than just a single device. After all, why tie your huge social networking service to one product when you can have dozens of different phones from multiple manufacturers? I'm not sure I'll ever feel the need for a handset with a strong focus on Facebook, especially since I'm more of a Twitter guy, but I can certainly see why a lot of heavy FBook users would be drawn to something like the Salsa. Are any of you one of those people, or would you rather just pick up a regular smartphone and use Facebook apps, widgets, etc?
