Over the past few days, we've heard some iPhone 5-ish rumors that Apple was working on a mini iPhone as well as an iPhone with a physical keyboard. There aren't many form factors left to speculate about, but the rumor mill has come up with another: a larger display. According to Digitimes and their "upstream component suppliers," Apple will be upping the iPhone 5's screen size to four inches, up from the 3.5-inch display that has been used ever since the original iPhone's inception. On a separate but still related note, Deutsche Telekom said in its MWC press event today that it's expecting an NFC-enabled device from Apple later this year.
The idea of Apple finally bumping up the iPhone's screen size seems kind of crazy since they've stuck with it for this long, but it kind of makes sense, too. The 4-inch screen size is increasingly becoming commonplace among Android smartphones, and because of that, the iPhone is going to be thought of as "too small" more and more. The Retina Display on the iPhone 4 is definitely nice, but I'm sure more than a few iOS users would love to see the next iPhone's screen get bumped up to at least four inches. What do you all think?
