Ever since the Verizon iPhone was spotted with iOS 4.2.5 and a Personal Hotspot app in tow, we've been wondering when AT&T's iPhone would get the same treatment. After yesterday's announcement from AT&T detailing its new Mobile Hotspot add-on, I speculated that the iPhone could be getting the feature in the near future, and now that prediction looks like it could very well come true. Buried inside The New York Times' review of the Verizon iPhone 4, David Pogue says that the AT&T iPhone will be getting Personal Hotspot on February 13th, the same day that AT&T's app will roll out. The iPhone would obviously need a software update to enable the feature, meaning that we could see iOS 4.3 arrive very soon. John Gruber of Daring Fireball believes that it'll arrive within the next two weeks so that users of The Daily can take advantage of 4.3's in-app subscriptions before the two-week free trial runs out.

On a iOS 4.3-related note, MacNotes.de believes that Apple will be holding an event next week to show off the newest iteration of its mobile OS. The site claims that, at this event, the iPad 2 will be shown off as a "One more thing"-type surprise.

AT&T may have taken its time to allows its iPhone users access to tethering, but with the Verizon iPhone out, I'm not sure that they'll want to wait and give users another reason to make the jump to Big Red's iDevice. As for when iOS 4.3 will arrive, I would be surprised if Apple released it on February 13th, which is a Sunday. Will it came later that week, though? I bet it will. What do you all think?
