There's been plenty of speculation lately surround Motorola's Atrix 4G and all of its launch details, and now we've got another unconfirmed rumor to add to the pile. According to the Wall Street Journal, AT&T will begin offering the Atrix beginning March 6th for $199.99 on contract or $499.99 bundled with Moto's laptop dock (after a $100 mail-in rebate). A quick note about that bundle: in order to be eligible for the laptop/Atrix 4G pack for $500, you have to agree to sign up for the 2GB Data Pro plan as well as the tethering add-on. If you'd prefer to pick up the laptop at a later date, the site claims that it'll be available separately for $499.99. There will also be a multimedia dock package that includes the Motorola HD Multimedia Dock, a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse, and a remote for $189.99. That bundle does not include the phone itself.
While I agree that $500 seems a bit steep for a phone and a dock, it's important to remember that you're not getting a simple charging dock/alarm clock accessory. When the Atrix 4G is plugged into the laptop dock, you're getting a netbook-like computer that's able to charge your phone and use full-on Firefox. As for the price for just the phone, I'll be pleasantly surprised if AT&T launches the Atrix for $200 on-contract. Most of us have expected these fancy new 4G phones to be priced at $250, so I'd be more than happy to fork over $200 for the Atrix, especially with its Tegra 2 core and 1GB of RAM. What do you all think of this possible pricing for the Atrix and its laptop dock?
UPDATE: And just like that, AT&T has made it all official. Pre-orders kick off February 13th, and the phone will be available March 6th "or earlier." So, who's getting one?

4G Portfolio
AT&T is the leader in smartphones, and expects to widen that lead in 2011. In January, AT&T committed to an industry-leading Android portfolio in the U.S. in 2011 and said it plans to offer two 4G smartphones in the first quarter. An industry first, the Motorola ATRIX 4G is the leading edge of more than 20 advanced, 4G devices AT&T plans to deliver in 2011. AT&T has completed the deployment of HSPA+ to virtually 100 percent of its mobile broadband network, which enables 4G speeds when combined with enhanced backhaul.
Motorola ATRIX™ 4G
The Motorola ATRIX™ 4G Android 2.2 smartphone will be offered exclusively by AT&T and is the world’s most powerful smartphone. AT&T will offer two special packages for customers who choose to purchase ATRIX 4G in addition to these unique accessories. The first combines ATRIX 4G and the Motorola Laptop Dock for a promotional price of $499.99 after a two-year service contract and $100 mail-in-rebate after subscription to Data Pro smartphone data plan and tethering add on.
