We're expecting the Honeycomb-powered Motorola XOOM to arrive in mid to late February, but there are some Android tablets out there that haven't even made the jump to Froyo yet, like the Dell Streak. Fortunately for all of the patient Streak owners out there, that won't be the case much longer, if a Best Buy newsletter is to be believed, anyway. According to the newest edition of the Best Buy Employee News, Dell's 5-inch tablet will be getting the over the air upgrade to Android 2.2 beginning Tuesday, February 1st. The full statement:
"You've been asking and now there's an answer! The Dell Streak will receive an over-the-air (OTA) update to Android 2.2 on Tuesday, Feb. 1. This information should help generate excitement with customers who have been asking for the update. You've been asking and now there's an answer! This isn't the first or even second time we've heard that the Streak would soon be bumped up to 2.2, so I'm a little skeptical, but at least this time we've got a concrete date to look forward to. Considering that the Streak is currently running Android 1.6, I hope that, for the owners' sakes, this time the update is finally going to come.
