So you got a shiny new Verizon phone over the holidays, but now that the iPhone 4 is hitting Big Red's airwaves next month, you're feeling a twinge of buyer's remorse? Verizon will be more than happy to help you move to Apple's handset, but it's going to cost you. According to Verizon's iPhone 4 FAQ, any customer that purchased a smartphone or featurephone between November 26th and January 10th can get a Visa debit card ($200 for smartphones, $75 for feature phones) if they return their existing phone and pick up an iPhone 4 by February 28th. The catch? You have to pay full retail price for the iPhone, which will set you back either $649.99 for the 16GB model or a whopping $749.99 for the 32GB version.
While this is definitely nice of Verizon to offer customers an easy way to make the switch to an iPhone 4 when it arrives, users would likely be much better off trying to sell their handsets on CraigsList or eBay. This is especially true if you picked up a newer handset over the holidays. Still, Verizon's option could be a decent choice if you don't feel like dealing with auctions or any other online interactions. Just know that you may be missing out on some extra cash if you decide to go that route. Just saying.
