Sony Ericsson isn't one of the handful of manufacturers with a Windows Phone 7 handset in its lineup, opting instead to focus on Android. A recent interview with Steven Walker, acting head of Sony Ericsson's global marketing, has revealed that that likely won't be changing any time soon. Walker said in an interview with Pocket-lint that, although his company has worked with Microsoft in the past, they don't have any concrete information on when they'll be releasing a WP7 device.  For the time being, SE will be focusing entirely on Android so that "only a certain number of ecosystems will prevail."

While Sony Ericsson doesn't seem terribly interested in releasing a Windows Phone 7 product right now, the company definitely sounds like they'll be pushing one out sooner or later.  They've said that they're continuing to work with Microsoft and "shouldn’t limit [themselves] to one opportunity," so it seems more like it's a question of when, not if, we'll see a WP7 phone from SE. From the sound of things, we may be waiting until the second half of 2011 or so before SE pushes out a WP7 device.  That's definitely a long ways off, but if they that handset is anything like the XPERIA Arc, the wait should be worth it.
