Well, well, well, what's this? A Samsung device with the model number GT-i9023 just passed through the FCC with T-Mobile 3G compatibility, and its outline bears a little more than a passing resemblance to the Nexus S. Not only that, but a video was recently spotted showing a Nexus S allegedly running Android 2.4. Guess what was included in the baseband of that very phone? "i9023." Finally, that model number was recently spied making the rounds at the WiFi Alliance and Bluetooth SIG and was also seen at several European retailers being described as a "Black Silver" Nexus S. Peep the aforementioned video below.
So, just what exactly is going on here, you ask? It's tough to say right now. One possibility is that Sammy is planning to re-release the Nexus S with HSPA+ compatibility to blow out the launch of Android 2.4 and maybe make a few other minor tweaks, too. Many think that this could be the Vibrant 4G, although the FCC outline doesn't quite fit the body of a Vibrant. It's possible that Samsung is changing up the Vibrant 4G body to more closely resemble the Nexus, but I'm leaning more towards the possibility of a revised Nexus S instead. What about you?
