And the BlackBerry leaks continue. This time, we've got the BlackBerry Torch 2 for your viewing pleasure. The sequel to RIM's first BlackBerry slider just leaked out, and while the exterior of the handset seems essentially unchanged, there are some big changes under the hood. The biggest change with the Torch 2 is almost certainly the processor: the new model reportedly has a 1.2GHz core, doubling the first device's 624MHz core. Unsurprisingly, AT&T is expected to launch the second Torch, and it's said to be arriving some time in late Q3. All of the other Torch 2 specs, presented in a handy bulleted list, are:
The original BlackBerry Torch had an interesting form factor and decently-sized display, but its processor was pretty slow for a "flagship" type device. Thankfully, RIM has addressed the issue in the Torch 2 in a big way. A 1.2GHz core should definitely help the Torch 2 and BB 6 fly, although I'm still a little disappointed with the smallish screen and relatively low resolution. Still, if you're going to be in the market for a new handset soon and love BlackBerrys or need a physical keyboard, the Torch 2 seems like it's going to be a great option.
