Last week, we reported on a bug in Android that caused some text messages to get sent to the wrong contact, and many of you said that you've experienced the issue, sometimes several times across several devices. The problem was initially reported to Google back in June 2010, but today the company finally responded to the situation, explaining that there are two distinct situations where the problem can flare up and that they have fixes for both. There's no word on exactly when the solutions will be pushed out, but you can rest easy knowing that they're on the way.
It's pretty surprising that its taken Google this long to get an answer to the SMS problem prepared, even if it is rare and tough to reproduce. After all, sending an SMS to the wrong person could have pretty major consequences. Here's to hoping that El Goog can get the fixes out soon and make all right with the world once again.
