I hope you weren't expecting a big presence from HP/Palm at CES, because it looks like they'll be saving all of their goodies for a special event of their own. We just received an invite to a webOS-focused invite that takes place in San Francisco on February 9th, and it sounds like HP will have big and small things in store.
Considering the wording used in the invite, it's probably a safe bet that we're going to see several new devices unveiled at this event, which is exactly what webOS needs right now to stay competitive. We've heard rumors that a sequel to the Pixi is in the works and is described as "the world's smallest smartphone," so I wouldn't be surprised to see it announced. There's also the "Think big" portion of the invitation which, coupled with the upcoming wave of Android tablets and the PlayBook, makes me think we could see the mythical PalmPad finally break cover on the 9th, too. We'll be covering the event, so be sure to stay tuned to PhoneDog for all the new info. Get excited, webOS fans, because new hardware for you to drool over is almost here!
