While we patiently wait for HP and Palm to release some new webOS hardware, we've had to rely on leaked device codenames to keep us going. A few names that have shown up in the past appeared again in a recent casting call, leading many to believe that we'll be seeing HP/Palm launch some new products sooner rather than later. As you can see in the image above, the names "Broadway," "Manta," and "Topaz" are products that will potentially star in a commercial or some other sort of advertisement. Broadway is a name we've seen before and is currently rumored to be the follow-up to the Palm Pixi, and Topaz is said to be the codename for the PalmPad. Manta is the only new name in the bunch, although it's likely just a variation on the "Mantaray" title that has leaked before.
There have been a number of webOS device leaks over the past year or so, but we're still waiting for any of them to come to market. As a refresher, the leaked names include Mansion, Broadway, Manta/Mantaray, Topaz, and Windsor. Sure, the Pre 2 came out recently (although we're still waiting for the Verizon model to arrive), but that's not really the new hardware that we've all been jonesing for. Hopefully with CES and other big trade shows around the corner, HP/Palm can finally push out some new products and get back to relevance again.
