If you had any doubt that the HTC EVO Shift 4G would be launching on January 9th with a price tag of $149.99 on contract, this should just about erase any hesitations you may have had. The folks over at Android Central have spotted the EVO Shift 4G in an upcoming Radio Shack ad, and it's sporting a $149.99 two-year contract price that's good starting on, you guessed it, Jan. 9th. There's not much else to the ad, but hey, at least the EVO Shift's launch info is pretty much confirmed at this point.
Some people may not see much of a point to the EVO Shift's existence, but I think it'll find its niche in Sprint's lineup. It combines a lot of what people like about the EVO (styling and Sense UI) and the Epic (physical QWERTY), including the 4G connectivity that both devices are known for, and crams it all into a neat little package with a respectable 3.7-inch display. Plus, the EVO Shift manages to come with a price tag that's $50 less than the EVO and a whopping $100 less than the Epic. Everything about the EVO Shift should be revealed at CES next month, so if you're at all interested in the device, be sure to stay tuned!
UPDATE: More evidence that the EVO Shift 4G will, in fact, be called the EVO Shift 4G, and that it's coming soon: accessories for the device have started appearing on Best Buy's shelves.
