So the LG Star is now the LG Optimus 2X and, although it's going to be launched next month, the U.S. has so far been left out of the dual-core Tegra 2 fun. According to the folks at RCR Wireless, though, that won't be the case forever. RCRW has it on "good authority" that the Optimus 2X will be arriving stateside some time in late February or early March. Just which carrier will get the opportunity to launch the first dual-core Android phone? Why, the carrier that launched the first Android phone: T-Mobile.
At first, I wasn't completely sold on this rumor considering how few high-end LG phones we actually see launched here in the U.S. It looks like LG is poised to change next year, though, so I wouldn't be surprised if we actually do end up seeing the Optimus 2X land on T-Mobile. It's got the dual-core Tegra 2 processor to help it stand out, both in its marketing and its raw power, so I'm sure it could do pretty well for itself and for T-Mo/LG. I'm sure we'll be seeing more of the Optimus 2X, and the LG B, at CES next month, so stay tuned.
